At The Water's Edge

The At The Water's Edge Story

It took me 22 years to feel that I've come to sort of completion with the At The Water's Edge story. During those times when I was making a concerted effort to try to finish it people would ask what the story is about and all I could say: "I'm not really sure". The resulting looks weren't the most impressed I've ever received and exacerbated the self-doubt which questioned what on earth was I trying to do.

In hindsight, I think I can be forgiven. When I finished the story a few years back I could see that I was writing about having the courage to take the risk and do what you really want to do with your life. More recently however I feel ike I was also trying to write in parallel about having the courage to take the risk and rely more on what feels like a "spiritual" awareness (some of which is touched upon in this CLUES section. Both topics are fairly weighty. The fascinating thing is that all of those years ago it felt as if I had "tapped" into something. The subject is just as topical now for me as it ever was.

At The Water's Edge is not a perfect story by any means but it is one of which I'm proud.
