Hi,
There is a new addition to the gig schedule:
Friday 1st June 2012
Deja Vu, Reading, RG1 2LG: Bohemian Night Showcase
"Rob Sowden : Andrew Shearer : Damien A Passmore"
I'm very pleased to be asked to support that great cow punk Damien A. Passmore. He will be without his Lovable Fraudsters but I've seen him play a few times now solo and he is a very entertaining act. as apparently he was quite tentative performer in the early days which is hard to believe now. This is how he describes himself and his music.
"Fusing hilarious lyrics, brilliant musician ship, awesome vocals..... Some call us CowPunk. Some call us Garage Country. We're kind of a mash-up of Hayseed Dixie and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Tenacious D meets Garth Brooks. Country music with it's tongue well into its cheek and everything turned way up." Here's a video of Damien with his Lovable Fraudsters.
Even if you don't come and see me, you should come and see him. However Rob Sowden will be starting the evening off at 8:30pm and you've seen what I've said about him, so really you might as well get yourself a drink and stay for me in the middle too. The whole evening will be a great way to start the long weekend for monarchists and republicans alike.
Seriously though, I know it is short notice and many of you will be away for the long weekend but in addition to always being good to see friendly familiar faces it also always puts me in a good light with the promoter if I can pull some of "my" people in. If you want an added incentive I do believe one of my ex-pupils will be there too - I know how some of you have been desperate to hear the "truth" for quite some time now (:-).
If any of you can make Friday (and / or Saturday's HubFest) it would be be great to see you.
Andrew
