The Greyhound, Wargrave, RG10 8BU

Bohemian Night open-mic hosted by Rob Sowden

Very good humoured, pleasant evening night at The Greyhound run by Rob Sowden. I particularly enjoyed Boff's "great voiced" renditions of some modern classics (he can often be seen playing at Deja Vu both at Bohemian NIghts on Wednesdays and the showscases on Friday nights) and Jonesy's very Lucinda Williamsesque original songs (though apparently he doesn't know any Lucinda Williams).

Personally I don't feel I'm firing on all cylinders at the moment. It might be just the way I feel about my performance as I'm trying not to just play the "safe" songs all the time in addition to learning some new covers. I guess it didn't help that my story of chasing Ray Davies with fifteen school kids through Lyme Regis rambled a little but hey I'm just warming up for next week.

Talking of which don't forget The Chinese New Year Celebrations Gig at The Jolly Anglers next Friday (27th January). More details have been added here.
