Vic's Buskers open-mic hosted by Vic Cracknell
"Helloooooo Alton, Good To Be Back"
Okay the title is a bit over the top but it was nice to be playing in the location of an excellent education (Eggar's School; Alton Sixth Form College); an optician extraordinaire; the only car mechanic that I know of who has integrity; and multiple personal failures and a few successes (did I tell you I was a Hampshire bronze medalist in Judo?)
The evening was run by Vic Cracknell, someone else who provides a nurturing environment for inexperienced artists. Not that you'd think any of the performers were inexperienced last night: what an excellent entertaining evening it was. There are some very talented people out there.
As for me, I think it went well. When I played RISC all those years back, there seemed to be a time when I was a few songs into the set when I seemed to "inhabit" the songs,"forgot" where I was almost. I think that happened last night. It's always hard to tell with the audience because they're always so appreciative but for me it did seem to work better than the previous two evenings.
I played the same three songs (It's Just Not There, Silent Valley, Get Up!) as on the previous two occasions, next time I plan to do three "new" ones.
