"Perfect Day Lapped Up"
Artist-wise a very quiet night (only two other artists plus Tony) but very nice to see "The Dancers" and some of the other regular members of the audience at the Jolly Anglers last night.
One of the other acts incorrectly, in my opinion, espoused that there was only "Prog Rock" before Punk and so for my second set I thought it was only right to remind him of Roxy music and Lou Reed. I really need to learn a different Roxy music song apart from the one about a blow-up doll but I think that went okay. However I do think I probably did my best rendition of Perfect Day last night, in spite of the landlord's black Labrador noisily lapping his water bowl and spoiling the "carefully crafted ambience" (sic).
On many levels Can't Let Go seems to follow Perfect Day very naturally but in hindsight I think I should have finished with Crackerjack and tried to get everybody to join in but it just didn't occur to me at the time. Doh! A very pleasant night though.
